A Note from Our Director:
I am embarking on a new journey – of making my passion for supporting the education path for local children with mindfulness meditation my full-time job. When I co-founded Youth Meditation eight years ago, I knew there would come a time when the use of mindfulness meditation as a modality in the classroom would become an educational best practice. Our successes in CMS Title 1 and non-Title 1 schools assures all of us at Youth Meditation that the time is now.
I am attaching a recent whitepaper based on my outreach to students, local education and classroom wellness leaders in partnership with Charlotte-based social impact firm Next Stage. Here we have gathered our findings from our recent research which points to the potential for mindfulness meditation to be a ‘new tool’ in students and educators’ toolkit. It has potential to address the stress and frustration felt by educators who we are counting on to help get our students back on track and address the need for clarity, peace and focus for the students.
Thank you in advance for reading it, dropping your thoughts below, and sharing it in your networks. This mindfulness journey is just getting started and yet, has been a lifetime in the making.
